Who we are
Mali Monitor is a crowdsourced project aimed at tracking the unfolding crisis in Mali. It is an initiative of Volontari per lo Sviluppo and it stems out of the concern, widespread among individuals and civil society organizations familiar with the country, for the humanitarian emergency following the recent political upheaval and the ongoing conflict in the North. Its goal is to collect data from the ground in order to map the current situation, highlighting the security threats to which Malian people and expatriates working in the country are exposed and identifying the areas of greater need. To make this possible, we rely on the help of those in Mali who can provide us with information on food and water shortages, lacks of health services, outbreaks of violence and forced displacements.
